Alan Ritchson To Play Raphael in TMNT

Work on the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film moves forward, with yet another actor announced (the first since the travesty of Megan Fox most-likely playing April), this time for one of the Turtles themselves. Alan Ritchson, known best for Aquaman from the Smallville series and soon to be Gloss in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, has been cast to play Raphael in the film.

While nothing has been officially said yet, it's most likely that this movie will be using motion capture and CGI for the Turtles rather than actors in suits, and possibly the same actors for the character's voices. I'm unfamiliar with any of Ritchson's work, but at the very least, he has a little experience in both fields - he previously performed motion capture for the lead character in 2007's Beowulf adaptation, and he performed the voice of Aquaman for Justice League: The New Frontier. I'm remaining cautiously optimistic about this casting since I know nothing about the actor, hopefully he'll do well in the role compared to my hopes (or lack there-of) in regards to Fox.
